These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of The Ride Shadchan (formerly known as The Ride Gemach) website, SMS service, and all associated services (collectively, the “Service”). References to “The Ride Shadchan,” “The Ride Gemach,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to the same organization and service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
The Ride Shadchan is solely a platform that connects riders seeking transportation with volunteer drivers. We do not vet, endorse, or assume responsibility for any driver or the safety, quality, or outcome of any ride.
By using this Service and accepting a ride, you acknowledge and accept all associated risks, including potential property damage, personal injury, or any other harm. Volunteer drivers provide rides as an act of kindness, and by entering their vehicle, you agree not to hold the driver liable for any incidents, injuries, losses, or damages that may occur during or as a result of your ride.
Furthermore, you agree to release, waive, and hold harmless both the driver and The Ride Shadchan (including its former name The Ride Gemach), its affiliates, administrators, and agents, from any claims, demands, or damages arising out of or related to your ride experience, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
By submitting your phone number to The Ride Shadchan — whether via the website, SMS, or any other channel — you expressly consent to having your phone number shared with potential ride matches. When we find a matching rider or driver, both parties receive each other’s name and phone number so they can coordinate pickup, timing, and any cost-sharing directly.
This sharing is essential to how the Service works. If you do not wish to have your phone number shared with potential matches, please do not use the Service.

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the revised Terms on the Service. It is your responsibility to check these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service following the posting of revised Terms means you accept and agree to the changes.

Overview. Beginning with the 1,500th ride posted through The Ride Shadchan, every 500th ride post will be designated a milestone ride. The poster of a milestone ride is eligible to receive a free Uber reimbursement toward the ride they posted, subject to the terms below.
Eligibility. Milestone status is determined by The Ride Shadchan’s internal ride count at its sole discretion. A “ride” for purposes of this promotion means a ride request posted via SMS to 844-417-7210 or through the website at theridegemach.com or therideshadchan.com. Milestone rides include the 1,500th post, the 2,000th post, the 2,500th post, and so on in increments of 500. Participants must be 18 years of age or older to be eligible. If the milestone ride is an offer (“Offering a Ride”) rather than a ride request, no prize will be awarded for that milestone.
Uber Reimbursement. The milestone winner may receive reimbursement of up to $120 for an Uber ride matching the origin, destination, and date of the ride they posted through The Ride Shadchan. Reimbursement is issued by check, mail, or Zelle after the winner provides proof of the completed Uber trip (screenshot or receipt showing the route, date, and fare). Proof must be submitted within 30 days of notification. Reimbursement covers the base fare only, up to the $120 cap. Any amount exceeding $120, including tips, tolls, surge pricing, or fees, is the winner’s responsibility.
Opt-Out Credit. A milestone winner may decline the Uber reimbursement and instead receive a $50 credit toward transportation of their choosing. The credit is issued by check, mail, or Zelle. No proof of use is required for the opt-out credit. The winner must elect the opt-out credit within 30 days of notification; otherwise the prize is forfeited.
Notification & Forfeiture. The milestone winner will be notified via SMS to the phone number associated with their ride post. If the winner does not respond within 14 days of the initial notification, the prize is forfeited. Forfeited prizes are not transferred to another rider.
Prize Limits. One winner per milestone. No individual may win more than one milestone prize in a 12-month period. There is no cash equivalent beyond the two options described above.
Tax Responsibility. The winner is solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from receipt of the prize.
Privacy. Personal information collected for prize fulfillment (including phone number, mailing address, or Zelle information) will be used solely for that purpose and will not be shared with third parties.
Limitation of Liability. The Ride Shadchan’s total liability in connection with this promotion shall not exceed the value of the individual prize at issue.
Disputes. Any disputes arising from this promotion shall be resolved at the sole discretion of The Ride Shadchan, and such decisions are final.
Modifications. The Ride Shadchan reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue this promotion at any time without prior notice.
General. This promotion is offered in the spirit of community appreciation and is not a sweepstakes, lottery, or game of chance. The Ride Shadchan is a free community service; this promotion does not create any contractual obligation beyond what is described here. This promotion is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
